Oh Holy Night
Our Production of Oh Holy Night will be Dec. 13th!
Tickets are now on sale. They will be only 8.00 per person. You can purchase the tickets through Alyssa at Santa Rita Villas, online at sahuaritadance.com, or at the door. Children under 3 are free. Our performing teams, and a few select classes have worked hard for months so please come and support them!
This will be a unique production that will include all the performing arts and talents of our Sahuarita Community. The story line will be a family at a Christmas party. The main character, Lindsey, wants to understand what Christmas is about. She will be entertained by dancers, who tell her about the fun and joy of presents, as well as songs, music and parties. Her Dad will see her struggling to know what Christmas is all about and proceed to tell her the true meaning of Christmas through narration of the Christmas Story. There will be our new Sahuarita Singers Choir, vocal soloists, a harpist, guitarists from Allegro, our very own dancer, and much more.
Oh Holy Night will be held December 13th at 6:30 at the Sahuarita District Auditorium.
Tickets on sale now through Alyssa Wall at the Santa Rita Clubhouse, online, or at the door
Holiday Breaks
On the Wednesday before Thanksgiving classes will be combined. Both Tap classes will be from 4:00 to 5:00. Jazz II and III will be combined from 5:00 to 6:00. Thanksgiving break will be November 20th and 21st (Thursday and Friday.) We will have classes on Saturday.
Christmas break will start December 20th. Classes will begin again January 5th.
Because we want to make sure everyone gets 4 classes in during those months. You are more than welcome to pick a class as a make up. We have several to offer. You can look at our schedule online at Sahuaritadance.com for the full schedule.
For Ballroom: We will hold our make up kids ballroom classes on Monday; December 1st and Tuesday December 9th at 4:30 - 5:30. Adult Thanksgiving makeup will be December 5th with the rest of December off.
Recital News
Costume fees will be deducted on December 1st. Your teachers have picked out their songs and costumes and we will order them in December and January. (Yes it really does take that long for them to come in!) Please tell all of your friends that want to enroll that enrollment closes on the week of class in 2009 which is on January 5th. This is so we can get the costumes in time for recital.
We will be taking measurements in class in December to make sure we order the right size for your dancers. We will start learning our dances once we are back from the holiday break in January. Because each week we will be learning new choreography it is important that dancers do not miss class.
Ground Breaking for our New Studio Building
Our Ballerinas with shovels did a fabulous job moving dirt on November 7th. We had a lot of fun marking a wonderful beginning to a Arts Center for the whole community. It will be complete this summer! If you drive South on La Canada as you approach Duval Mine road you will see our sign and hopefully some construction starting soon!

Sahuarita, AZ, November 9th 2008 — On Friday November 7th two ballerinas in tutus officially broke ground on Sahuarita Dance Center’s new performing arts studio building. As the dirt flew from their shovels cheers were heard from the many students and parents in attendance. The long-awaited event marked a significant step in the dance studio’s efforts to bring a professional level performing arts studio building to the Sahuarita community.Located on the corner of Gillingham and La Canada, the 4,100 square foot building is expected to open next summer.
The studio building will feature two full-size dance rooms with professional grade floating floors and full length mirrors along the walls. The dance rooms feature a movable wall, allowing them to be combined into one large space for large events such as community social dance nights and receptions. The building will also feature a separate room designed for music and voice lessons as well as a viewing area and break room for dancers to work on homework while waiting for their siblings.
The studio building is the brainchild of local resident, Michele Brady, who has been teaching dance for the last 13 years. She is the owner of Sahuarita Dance Center which was founded three years ago.Brady’s vision for the center is “to provide a safe and friendly place for all ages to develop their talents in the performing arts”
While the studio building is being constructed, classes are being held at Triple Play, Santa Rita Villa Clubhouse, Ranchos Sahuarita Clubhouse and Anamax Park.Enrollment is still open until January 1st at which time classes will close to prepare for the recital to be held in May.Until then, registration can be completed online at Sahuaritadance.com or via phone at 232-3753.
Besides the preparations for the new studio, Sahuarita Dance Center is also busy preparing for the upcoming Christmas Celebration “Oh Holy Night”.This family centered event is the perfect start to the holiday season with local dancers, singers and musicians bringing the sights and sounds of Christmas to the community.“Oh Holy Night” will be held on December 13th at the Sahuarita auditorium.Tickets can be purchased online at Sahuaritadance.com.
